1. Introduction

Set the Seats ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our website and application (collectively, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us when you create an account, use the Service, or contact us. This may include:

  • Account information (name, email address, password)
  • Wedding and event details you enter into the Service
  • Guest list information (names, group assignments, seating preferences)
  • Communications you send to us (support requests, feedback)

When you visit the Service, we and the providers that help us operate it may also receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, referring page, pages viewed, approximate location, and cookie or similar identifiers. We do not use guest-list or seating-plan details to personalize ads.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
  • Create and manage your account
  • Generate seating charts and manage your wedding planning data
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and support requests
  • Send you technical notices and security alerts
  • Measure site performance and, where enabled, support and measure advertising

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell guest-list or seating-plan content. We may disclose information in the following circumstances:

  • With your consent or at your direction (e.g., when you share a seating chart with a collaborator)
  • With service providers who assist us in operating the Service, such as hosting, email, analytics, payment, and advertising providers
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests
  • To protect the rights, privacy, safety, or property of our users or the public

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with the Service. You may delete your account at any time, and we will delete your personal data within 30 days of your request.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential storage to maintain sessions, protect accounts, and remember preferences. We may also use analytics and advertising cookies, web beacons, or similar technologies on our public website. These technologies can store or read identifiers and collect information about visits and ad interactions. You can block or delete cookies in your browser, although doing so may affect parts of the Service.

8. Google AdSense and Advertising Choices

We may use Google AdSense to display ads on selected public, content-focused pages. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to serve, personalize, limit, and measure ads. Depending on your settings and location, ads may be based on prior visits to this and other websites. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services on its partner sites page.

You can manage Google ad personalization in My Ad Center. Where applicable law requires consent, we will request it before using non-essential advertising technologies and provide a way to revisit that choice. Ads are not placed inside private planning, account, or shared seating-chart screens.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Data portability (receive your data in a structured format)
  • Withdraw consent at any time
  • Opt out of targeted advertising or qualifying data sharing where applicable

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
